# What is Family Variant Testing?

## Family variant testing (FVT) helps find out if you have the same genetic change that runs in your family

Family Variant Testing (FVT)is a type of genetic testing offered to blood family members of someone who has already had testing with MyOme and was found to have a genetic change of a single gene that could impact disease risk. This testing checks if family members also have the same genetic change, which can help understand their risks or help clarify testing for the original family member tested.
