# What are the duo, trio and proband options?

## Proband, Duo, Trio.

- **Proband:** Single patient test.
- **Duo:** Proband plus one first-degree family member (sibling or parent). Genomes are run for both samples and variants are analyzed together.
- **Trio:** Proband plus two first-degree family members (sibling or parent). When testing children, including both parental samples, is recommended for the most comprehensive interpretation. Genomes are run for all samples and variants are analyzed together.
