# How does the Type 2 Diabetes (T2D) Integrated Risk test help determine a person’s risk?

## The T2D Integrated Risk test examines many small changes in a person’s DNA that are known to affect the chance of developing type 2 diabetes.

The test adds up these changes to provide an estimate of genetic risk. This information is then combined with other risk factors, such as family history, weight, and lifestyle, to give doctors a more complete understanding of an individual’s overall risk.
